Our philosophy

A memory becomes
a way of moving.

What we carry is more than what we wear.

PANJ begins with a connection to home. It grows through the natural world and comes alive in the way we move. For Sarah Regensburger, clothing is a place where heritage, feeling and everyday life meet.

01 / What we carry

A number.
A memory.
A connection to home.

When Sarah was a child, her grandmother would visit from Iran and bring coins bearing the Persian numeral five. Its heart-like form stayed with her. Today, that memory lives in the PANJ symbol.

It travels through the graphic print of the Panj Air Catsuit and the coins hand-stitched onto Sarah’s Diaspora tartan suit. The Panj Tee carries another family connection: 1962 in Farsi, the birth year of her mother.

From grandmother to mother to daughter, a personal memory becomes a shared language. Sarah and her mother closed the London show in matching leaf-printed suits, bringing that story into movement.

02 / The five elements

Five elements.
One movement.

PANJ’s five elements grow from Sarah’s personal spiritual exploration, inspired by Persian culture and her connection to the natural world. Earth, Water, Air, Fire and Space become ways of finding grounding, renewal, clarity, creative energy and limitless possibility. These are PANJ’s own interpretations, expressed through clothing and the life we bring to it.

Earth / خاکGrounding, belonging, roots.

Rooted in who we are.

Earth reminds us that we belong to nature. The ground beneath our feet, the trees around us and the life within us are connected. Oneness begins with recognising ourselves as part of this living whole.

For PANJ, this connection is felt through the body and expressed through natural-based materials and the impressions of real leaves. Nature is part of who we are. To feel grounded is to remember that we belong to something larger than ourselves.

Water / آبFlow, change, renewal.

Change becomes a new beginning.

Water carries the feeling of healing and renewal. Its rhythm invites us to pause, release what we have been holding and find our flow again. It changes shape without losing its essence, reminding us that change can open a path towards restoration.

For PANJ, the healing power of water is a source of spiritual inspiration: a return to softness, balance and the possibility of beginning again. Fluid silhouettes and clothing in motion carry this feeling into everyday life.

Air / بادBreath, clarity, freedom.

A breath opens a new perspective.

Air is the breath that brings us back to ourselves. It clears space in the mind and invites us to move with greater ease, seeing beyond the familiar.

Through movement and personal expression, PANJ explores this openness. A stretch, a step, a shift in perspective: small moments that make room for freedom.

Fire / آتشEnergy, transformation, creation.

The essence of creation.

Fire is the essence of creation. It is the spark that brings something into being, the energy that transforms possibility into form. It invites us to trust our inner impulse and give expression to what is waiting to emerge.

For PANJ, creation begins within. Feeling, imagination and intention meet in the act of making. Fire gives this process its energy: the courage to shape something new and the willingness to be transformed by it.

Space / فضاPossibility, stillness, the unknown.

Limitless possibility.

Space is the pause before something new. In stillness, we make room for what we cannot yet see. We do not need every answer before taking the next step.

PANJ sees Space as limitless possibility: room to grow beyond what we know, trust the unknown and become more than we imagined. The final element leaves the story open, ready for the life you bring to it.

03 / What we make

Nature is
our essence.

Nature sits at the heart of PANJ: in the elements that inspire us, the materials we choose and the way we connect with the world around us. Our focus on mainly natural-based materials begins with how clothing feels against the body. Cotton, modal and bamboo-based fabrics bring different textures and possibilities to the collection: structure, softness and fluid movement.

In Bali, Sarah and Arry from Ecoprint work with real leaves, laying them across fabric and binding it for printing. Each leaf leaves its own impression. The natural world becomes part of the garment’s surface, rather than simply a reference for a pattern.

Making is a connection between people, materials and place. PANJ’s collection was born and partly made in Bali, shaped by the island’s nature and the people Sarah met during her travels.

04 / What becomes yours

Rooted in a story.
Made to move with you.

Sarah’s own yoga practice gives PANJ’s focus on movement a personal connection. Breath, stillness and movement offer a language through which to explore the relationship between body, nature and everyday life.

A symbol can hold a memory. A print can hold the trace of a leaf. But the story continues in the person who wears it. PANJ creates pieces to inhabit, layer and make your own.
